Simple Faith

"He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."

The past two days, I've been trying to "refocus." I felt I was getting too preoccupied with hobbies and then becoming selfish when it came to spending time with someone else or doing things that 'interrupted' my schedule. Yesterday and today, I tried to spend time in 'real' prayer, but I didn't feel like I heard from God.

I kept wondering, Am I doing something wrong? What is God's will? How can I obey Him?
Then tonight, I came across a friend's photo of a plaque referencing Micah 6:8. I decided to look it up, and this is what I read:

"He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." (check out verses 6-7, too. ;)

The more I thought on it, the more I realized that God was speaking to me. It was like He was gently saying, "Julie, I've shown you what My will is. You don't have to guess. It's simple, now go ahead."

He's done it again! :) I think I'm just going to have to relearn this lesson for the rest of my life: If I just let go, I can expect God to lead me. But, on the other hand, if I'm stressing myself out by trying to "pull" God along, I'm not going to hear His voice clearly and I'm certainly not going to follow Him like I would otherwise.

These are a few thoughts I have. What are some of yours? Please, leave a comment or few and tell us what God's been teaching you. Love and good stuff,                                          ~Julie
