A Lasting Commitment

Have you ever made a commitment you find hard to keep? Sometimes we make hasty commitments or resolutions and then regret them when our schedule is full or we're in the wrong mood or things don't work out our way. Have you ever done that? All of us have at one time or another. But there's hope.

A few synonyms of "commitment" are: "dedication, devotion, faithfulness." Hmmm... That sounds like God's love for us. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His One and Only Son so that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have eternal life." All you have to do is believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and obey His commands and you will be saved. (Acts 16:31; 1 John 2:3-5) God keeps His promises. He is committed to them and to whoever takes Him up on this amazing offer.

"Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, 'If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.'" -John 7:37
